About the event

The San Joaquin Valley, vital to California’s communities, agriculture, and economy, faces pressing challenges in achieving groundwater sustainability. A recent study by the PPIC highlights these issues and suggests actionable solutions. An upcoming event will facilitate a dialogue between the study’s authors and a diverse panel of state and local experts to address these challenges and chart a sustainable future for the region.

  • Co-hosted by Fresno State’s California Water Institute, Central Valley Community Foundation, and the PPIC Water Policy Center.
  • Key funding from Babbitt Center, S. D. Bechtel, Jr. Foundation, California Department of Food and Agriculture, US Department of Agriculture, and California Strategic Growth Council’s Climate Change Research Program.
  • Focus: Groundwater challenges, key issues, and actionable solutions for the San Joaquin Valley.
